Personal Story
Liam Hanlon grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley, seeing the rapid development and technological advancements that shaped the cityscape. Despite this high-tech environment, he cherished family road trips and camping adventures, especially visits to their remote cabin in Vermont—a perfect place to unplug and relax.
From an early age, Liam was the curious kid who had to touch everything, constantly keeping his hands busy by taking things apart and rebuilding them. This innate curiosity about how things work led him to architecture, where he found a way to combine his love for creating and his appreciation for the natural environment. His sense of adventure and admiration for nature inspired him to study how to design spaces that connect people with healthy and rejuvenating environments.
An unusual experience that shaped Liam’s perspective was attending a Waldorf school from kindergarten through eighth grade. This alternative approach to early education helped him appreciate different teaching methods and understand how space can support learning and growth.
In five years, Liam envisions himself as a licensed architect, renovating his first home. He said, “I imagine I’ll be cooking outside on a camping stove during the renovation process.”
In his free time, Liam enjoys cooking, traveling, and taking his dog on adventures. Maple, his beloved yellow lab, is his constant companion, and he strives to give her the best life.
Whether it’s a beach day or a long drive down a dirt road to find a hidden lake or river, he loves spending time outdoors. Gardening is another passion, and he takes pride in making hot sauce, salsa, spices, and pickles from his homegrown produce.
