Converting an existing 2-story office building into a new school campus.
San Diego, CA
San Diego Unified School District

Elevate TK-8 Charter School, serving students from transitional kindergarten through 8th grade, is an innovative institution dedicated to academic excellence. The project involves converting an existing 60,000 square foot, two-story office building into a new school campus. This modernization project aims to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students.

The project includes the construction of 24 new classrooms serving TK-8th grade, along with three specialty classrooms. Two classrooms will be dedicated to STEAM education, featuring collaborative spaces to enhance student engagement. Additionally, an integrated media center will combine print and digital resources to support student learning. The school will also feature specialized classrooms, including one for visual arts and another for 8th-grade science education.

Site improvements will include new asphalt paving, a drop-off lane, a playground, and a turf field for physical education. The site will be updated for accessibility to ensure an inclusive environment for all students. Building renovations will involve structural retrofitting to comply with The Field Act, and new systems will be installed for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and the kitchen. This comprehensive modernization project will provide a state-of-the-art educational facility for the Elevate TK-8 Charter School community.
