Elevate Charter School

Project Scope

Converting an existing 2-story office building into a new school campus.
San Diego, CA
San Diego Unified School District

Elevate TK–8 Charter School is transforming a 60,000-square-foot, two-story office building into a modern, purpose-built learning environment that supports students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. This comprehensive modernization reimagines the existing structure as a dynamic, engaging, and flexible school campus.

The project includes 24 new TK–8 classrooms and three specialty learning spaces. Two STEAM classrooms will feature collaborative, hands-on zones designed to strengthen inquiry-based learning, while an integrated media center will blend print and digital resources to support research, literacy, and exploration. Additional specialized spaces include a visual arts classroom and an 8th-grade science lab tailored for advanced project work.

Site improvements will introduce new asphalt paving, a dedicated drop-off lane, a playground, and a turf field to support physical education and daily student activity. Accessibility upgrades will ensure an inclusive and welcoming campus for all learners.

Building renovations include structural retrofitting to meet Field Act requirements, along with new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and kitchen systems that bring the campus up to modern educational standards.

Together, these improvements will deliver a state-of-the-art school environment that supports Elevate TK–8’s commitment to academic excellence, creativity, and student-centered learning.
