Professional Profile

Jim is an expert in Southern California K-12 architecture. He has nearly 50 years of experience in master-planning, programming, construction documents, construction and close-out for a range of K-12 educational facilities. He has been the architect of record for dozens of projects, for a multitude of different projects.  He has taken this experience and become a valuable asset to our team as our Construction Architect, dealing with all of the nuances of constructability in the field.

Jim is a member of the American Institute of Architecture and an active member in the Coalition of Adequate Student Housing.

Personal Story

Jim Chase was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. He is an identical twin brother.  He decided to be an Architect in the 8th grade while taking a drafting class with a favorite teacher.

Jim graduated from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, School of Architecture. Upon graduation, he was commissioned in the US Army and served as a Captain, Corp of Engineers, in Germany and Vietnam. Returning to Southern California, becoming a licensed Architect, he has been designing and constructing K-12 schools most of his career, throughout California.

He has three beautiful children and three grandchildren.  Primary hobbies and interests include golf and traveling.  He and Rebecca have been fortunate to travel extensively throughout the world, on numerous cruises and land trips, many with his twin brother and his wife. Favorite destinations include Tahiti and Europe, particularly Italy.
