Name: Brywood Elementary School
Scope: Comprehensive Modernization
Location: Irvine, CA
Owner: Irvine Unfied School District
Sq ft.: 34,659

Modernizing the original 1980’s Brywood Elementary School required not only updating the dated campus but substantial reconfiguration of the interior to meet the District’s cutting-edge Master Plan and Educational Specifications. Despite working within the existing structure and a limited budget, the transformation was a success. Classrooms wings were converted to individual grade-level Villages, and a new Campus Hub (redesigned Library, new Innovation Lab, new Student Support Spaces) and Campus Activity Center (reconfigured MPR, expanded Food Service, new Design Lab) were created. The new flexible learning environment encourages cross-collaboration teaching and will serve Brywood’s students and staff for years to come.
