Personal Story
Emmett Wackford, a native of Placerville, CA, near Lake Tahoe, relocated to San Diego for his studies at San Diego State University. His life’s trajectory was significantly influenced by his high school teachers and family. In fact, his interest in engineering was sparked by a high school math teacher’s suggestion.
Emmett takes great pride in his graduation from an ABET-accredited program at SDSU, which he considers one of his life’s most challenging and rewarding accomplishments. When asked about a unique work experience, he recounted having a stint as a ranch hand, caring for a herd of over 30 llamas.
Emmett envisions his future at StudioWC, where he aims to contribute to the company’s engineering growth over the next five years. Outside of work, he is an outdoor enthusiast and sports lover with a competitive streak. A lifelong basketball player, he participates in a weekly men’s league. He also enjoys beach outings, surfing attempts, and socializing with friends. Hiking with his beloved dog, Goose, is another of his favorite pastimes.
