Personal Story

Reyhane Bassamtabar is a native of the vibrant city of Tehran. During childhood, her family instilled a deep curiosity to explore the world. Their shared passion for travel led them to fascinating destinations, including the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

The rich tapestry of Iranian architecture captivated her—from ancient wonders to modern marvels. She found studying the intricate designs of cultures spanning millennia fueled her desire to contribute. Inspired by both artists and engineers, Reyhane chose architecture as her path. “It’s where creativity meets precision, and I thrive in that intersection,” she said.

Her architectural journey has been diverse. She has been a designer on residential, commercial, and healthcare projects. During her master’s studies, she chose to dive into educational architecture, seeking ways to enhance learning environments through thoughtful design. Simultaneously she managed independent residential ventures, honing problem-solving skills.

One of Reyhane’s standout memories involves collaborating with local artisans to restore a historic building. The blend of tradition and innovation was exhilarating. Another time, she explored an abandoned factory, envisioning its transformation into a community space.

In five years, Reyhane sees herself as a licensed architect, contributing to sustainable and inclusive designs. She aims to bridge cultures through her work, drawing inspiration from global travels and local contexts alike.

When not immersed in blueprints, she devours scientific literature and articles, documentaries and animated films. She plans to continue exploring more of the U.S. to experience its native beauty. A self-proclaimed foodie, Reyhane is always eager to try new and diverse cuisines. (Photo taken in Lower Antelope Canyon, Page, Arizona – 2023)
