Personal Story

Kyle Rowbotham draws inspiration from the natural world, a passion rooted in his early experiences exploring the outdoors as an Eagle Scout. Originally from Missouri, he developed a deep appreciation for nature that continues to influence his life and career.

Initially pursuing a degree in biology, Kyle’s path shifted toward architecture after an inspiring conversation with a friend. He discovered his affinity for design while taking an introductory studio course at the University of Utah. After facing challenges in his academic journey, he transferred to Southern Illinois University, where he refined his technical skills in drawing and Revit.

Following his undergraduate studies, Kyle sought opportunities in the West, pursuing graduate studies at the University of New Mexico. The region’s landscapes and professional prospects aligned with his goals and fostered his creative growth.

Now based in San Diego, Kyle continues to cultivate his connection with nature through outdoor activities and a home garden. He emphasizes the importance of simplicity and sustainability in both his personal and professional endeavors, striving to create spaces that celebrate and harmonize with the natural environment.
